Elm City to unveil Iraq war memorial
Design of Red River stones to highlight conflict’s costs
War memorials tell of beginnings and ends — a treaty signed, a last battle, a final death toll. But for supporters of a new monument in New Haven commemorating the ongoing Iraq war, such landmarks are only aspirations.

As cold persists, options for immigrants are few
This memorial is clearly biased in an anti-war manner. Most Americans who think we shouldn't pull out, myself included, aren't so myopic as to think that Americans are the only ones dying. In fact the sole reason I want American troops to stay is so that we can prevent genocide in Iraq. I support this memorial only if we keep adding stones after we pull out, so that we remember how many Iraqis will die if America doesn't help.
