Solidarity Week yields 550 ID card signups
Two weeks before Thanksgiving, Yale students have already been showing solidarity with their fellow man.
New Haven Solidarity Week — a collaborative effort among 26 undergraduate and graduate student groups that ended Friday — saw over 550 members of the Yale community sign up for the Elm City Resident Card program. The five-day series of discussions and panels that were part of NHSW were designed to raise awareness about the new program, organizers said.
360 State project kicks off
While I understand the comments wishing for Dwight Hall to hold the event next year, I'm not sure it would have the same urgency and popularity. Many of the students who got involved this year did so because of the importance of the ID program, which is one of the most significant issues to come to the city and Yale's campus in some time. It's probably more important that students continue to get ID cards than that they hold more discussion forums on New Haven issues next fall.
