From drag ball to panels, Trans Week reviews mixed
This is a good news/bad news kind of article. It's good that some kind of education is happening. But that education is woefully misdirected towards stereotypes. And I guess I shouldn't be surprised as most transgendered people are cross-dressers. But I guess I shouldn't be ungrateful because the more these stereotypes (drag queen!) are re-enforced the easier it is for people born transsexual to transition and disappear back into society. I transitioned 2 years ago and won't have anything to do with these kinds of events. Why? Because once someone knows your medical history you "othered", meaning I'm no longer seen as the woman I am. I fought to hard and long to be my true self, I'm not about to give that up! How would you like to be seen as an "it"?
This is just sad. Some very confused people...
Hopefully they will awake from their world of fantasy some day...
Meanwhile it is simply another stain on Yale's reputation to have hosted such an event.
Why would I give money to the university when I graduate when I know it will go towards this?
For the same reason I give money to Yale having graduated, knowing that they're still planning on giving you a diploma.

Maybe the trans students aren't coming out because they don't want to be stereotyped as drag queens.
