It’s Friday night, and you have a powerful hankering for Mexican food. A friend recommends Bulldog Burrito, but your restless soul hungers for more. You know what you value in a Mexican restaurant: distance from campus. If nothing else, C.O. Jones provides that much, located at 969 State St., two blocks past Modern Apizza. Unfortunately, C.O. Jones makes up for the inconvenience of the trek by providing neither good food nor value.

New Haven actually has the best Mexican food in the country, but I agree that it definitely isn't at CO Jones. In fact CO Jones is not really considered Mexican. Look a bit farther afield and you'll find it.

Wow ... what a malicious review. We've been going to co.jones for the last 3 years and love it! The margaritas and food are great.

Talk about kickin' someone in the c.o.jones....... this is the most absurd review for a restaurant I've ever seen. I normally wouldn't respond to a poor review, but Connelly seems to have made it personal. No value.highfalutin..fails miserably...masochistic?? I spent a lot of time at the restaurant as an undergrad and still go to the restaurant as I further my education. We basically started going there due to their great weekly specials. The food is very good and reasonably priced. It's nothing fancy, but then again they don't try to be anything more than a burrito shop that serves great margaritas. This restaurant makes a big effort in being student friendly and I applaud them.

I couldn't agree with Connelly more. The drinks are better than expected, but the food has fallen short time and again. The tight spaces make for more ackwardness than intimacy and boy does it get hot in there!

I have to admit, I was extremely dissapointed by Connelly's review of co jones. I have been a huge fan of the restaurant and feel if anything that the caliber and variety of tasty food and beverages has improved over the years. The enormous selection of 80 plus tequilas speaks for itself. In addition, there is not one single item on the dinner menu over 10 dollars. The portions are large. The food fresh. The drinks strong. There is just no other place like co jones. In fact, I can't even think of a close alternative. Therefore, Mr. Connelley oh masterful restaurant reviewer next time you run for the border, have a chalupa on me. Unfortunately you have missed the mark on this one.

I agree - C.O. Jones is not the place for great mexican - it's a great place to go and get drinks with cool atmosphere

If you want good mexican, try MEZCAL!!!!!!!!!!!! a block away from Jones and has excellent, authentic mexican dishes (they even make their nachos by hand)

also there is Guadalupe La Poblanita which is REALLY far away on chapel st. but also good (poor service though)
