Edelson to step down as director of Yale Cancer Center

Over span of five years, YSM researcher secured million-dollar grant, engineered reorganization

Richard Edelson, director of the Yale Cancer Center since 2003, has decided to step down from his office and resume his responsibilities in cancer research and as dermatology chair at the Yale School of Medicine full-time, YSM Dean Robert Alpern announced last week.

Bravo to Dr. Edelman! The old oncology service at YNHH was depressing - the unintended leason that young doctors received during their medical training was that private oncology practice was rewarding while university faculty toiled away in obscurity. Out with the old paradigm - in with the new! Next focus - a real Yale Heart Center?
