At 4:30 on Monday afternoon, six buses carrying over 100 New Haven residents pulled up to the XL Center in Hartford. Passengers — including locals and Yale students — unloaded into a crowd of 17,000. Pre-event lines wrapped around the entire city block. Attendees waited in a light snow.

If I had known there was a group from new haven and yale i would've joined. in the end the last minute decision to attend the obama rally was a good one. i too met mothers bringing their daughters who are first time voters to their first political rally..as it was mine. I saw families with young children. I saw in the Civic center a true melting pot of what America stands for...a way of life that includes hope, change and justice for all. I saw all walks of life and cultures and ages. I feel as if I were in the era of JFK. Thank you to Caroline and Sen Kennedy for bringing Obama to the front of the line!
