Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will teach a seminar at Yale next year as a visiting fellow, the University announced Friday. Blair — whose eldest son, Euan, is enrolled in a two-year master’s program in international relations at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences — will also participate in various events around campus as part of his appointment as the Howland Distinguished Fellow for the 2008-'09 academic year, the University said.

This must have been a quid pro quo for admitting the son, who was reportedly rejected by Harvard's Kennedy School.

CORRECTION:

Young Blair got into both the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton and the Kennedy School at Harvard, but neither would award him a "merit scholarship" in light of his low grades. Yale, however, came through with the $$$.

I love the photo, the caption should read:

"Who's got two index fingers and was a lap dog for the Bush administration? This guy!"

That photo is ridiculous. I love it.

I imagine Blair will teach a class on how to get involved in a war without end and no reason and how to completely subordinate his country to the will of another nation.

Could be worse. We could have Joschka Fischer teaching here.

Now we'll have to have Hugo Chavez as a visiting professor to lessen the hurt feelings of the liberals on campus.

By Jove! This will never work. He speaks completely understandable english.

#12, you do realize that Tony Blair is a liberal, former PM as a member of the *Labor* Party (which is arguably to the left of even the Democrats), now do you?

Finish restoring the Divinity School so Yale doesn't embarrass itself.

Class? The guy has no class. Nothing but another international british flamer the University doesn't need. Maybe Fidel can teach a course and Al Sharpton.

Another possible caption for the (great) picture: "C'est moi."
