In housing, vicissitudes of fortune spare no one

I have shared a bedroom with another person on two occasions in my life. The first was when I shared a room with my older brother, an arrangement that ended before my fifth birthday. The decision to part ways was my brother’s. He did not especially appreciate that, as a wee bairn, instead of counting sheep, I sang myself to sleep. Apparently, my late-night renditions of “Jesus loves me this I know” did not have the same sleep-inducing effect on him.

I think this might be the first Kristen Ng column I actually liked.

Also, Housing Karma is real, and wonderful.

i don't think someone who has not and will not ever really experience a double is in a place to tell the rest of us to have some perspective.

I meant amen to the Housing Karma comment by the way. The ace of hearts I pulled during housing draw makes me very happy:) You can't fault Kristen for having food allergies Mr. Anonymous 2.

As someone who lives in a double now and chose to bite the bullet and volunteer to live in a double next year, I'd like to mention that perspective IS what it is all about. It saves everyone the annoyance of unnecessary debate, and living in a double doesn't have to suck if one puts in the energy to make it work.

Go Kristen. You're so hot! Not to mention wise.
