Last week, Mayor John DeStefano announced he was going to run for an unprecedented ninth term, which would make him the longest-serving elected mayor in New Haven history. Although he already has one opponent, the chance that someone will be able to mount a successful campaign against him is slim. And unfortunately, without formidable opposition, the mayor is unaccountable to the electorate.

Let's not forget the Leftist nonsense that kept the Yale Cancer Center from being built for over 1 year. Every day I pray that we get annexed by Branford.

if a petition was placed in front of you "Sarah honey" would you sign it ?

A percentage of signatures is needed to, first force a Primary, and if your going as a Rep.or Independent then sigs are needed for a Nov.election

Would you sign ?

would you contribute much needed money to the "campaign to end patronage ",or what was that Sherri Killins debacle called a few years back ? oh "All inclusive"

as randy andy bromage said ,"it would need a backing of in the know politicos" or something to that effect

A fraudulent grassroots as was Killins,is not going to work as that wound up with a wrench in it's machine and actually wound up on the floor of Harps "on whalley ave office.sold it out

Most neighborhood hotshots see no problem with Desteff. as they get what they want, others are new and careless, others get the eviction notice from the Dem chair/Marshall

"Stranglehold on city politics" that is tantamount to hegemony? Oh, Please! This article is big on fancy words and loud pronouncements but sorely lacking in substance or reasoned argument.

This thread is evidence of why DeStefano will win in 2009.
