One sentence in Friday’s review “Spartans storm silver screens” of the film “300” was copied from a review of the film published in Slate magazine last Thursday. The writer, Makda Asrat, had read the Slate review prior to writing her own review and inadvertantly replicated one of its sentences. There is no evidence that any of the writer’s other reviews have similarly plagiarized lines, but News editors are reviewing her work and will issue subsequent corrections if other incidents are uncovered. The News sincerely apologizes for this transgression.
