Correction
Yesterday’s article about Harvard’s athletic recruitment policies mistakenly reported that Yale’s athletic department has an average academic index score — one factor used in admissions decisions for athletic recruits — of 220, and that the basketball team has an average score of 208 or 209. The 220 number is actually the average score of all Yale students;
the basketball team aims to have an average of 208 and 209, one standard deviation away.
The News sincerely regrets this error.
