Fifteen years ago today at his inauguration, a young Rick Levin stood on the dais of Woolsey Hall to receive the symbols of his new office. The head of the Yale Corporation placed the president’s bejeweled collar on Levin’s shoulders, while his incoming secretary, Linda Lorimer, stood behind him to secure the precious necklace.
