A campaign speech on Class Day?

To the Editor:

To say the least, George Pataki's selection as Class Day speaker is kind of a downer. It's an election year, and he's one of 22 or so governors running for re-election. Are we in the mood for mild politics?

That is what we are going to get from Pataki, a reasonably local politician who will be speaking to many of his constituents in an election year.
