Bulldogs face Bears one more time

Classes may have ended, but the men’s hockey team has one last conference test this semester.
In a crucial matchup, the Bulldogs (3-3-3, 2-2-3 ECAC) host travel partner Brown (1-6-3, 1-2-3) on the final weekend of 2007 ECAC play. After blanking the Bears, 2-0, in a non-league meeting on Oct. 27, the Elis will look to dominate the ice once again and move up in the tightly packed conference standings.
Coming off a tough 2-1 loss to the National Development Team Program’s Under-18 U.S. National team on Saturday, the Bulldogs are preparing for a rebound against the Bears, who currently sit near the bottom of the ECAC standings.
“We’re going to expect a much better game out of the team,” forward Mike Karwoski ’09 said.
The ninth-place Bears are led in scoring by a trio of seniors — forwards Jeff Prough and Chris Poll and blueliner Sean Hurley. Although the three players have combined for 21 points this season, none of them has had a goal in Brown’s only victory this season, a 5-2 trouncing of Colgate in Providence, R.I., last month.
The Bulldogs also topped the Raiders in October, taking advantage of a five-point effort from leading scorer Mark Arcobello ’10 to claim the win, 6-4.
