Briefly: In Fair Haven, man robbed and assaulted in his front yard

A Fair Haven man who was working in his yard Wednesday morning was robbed and pistol whipped by a man with an assault rifle, City Hall spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga said. Mayorga said police conducted a thorough search throughout the neighborhood but that as of early Wednesday evening no arrests had been made. As a safety measure, students at the nearby St. Rose of Lima School were kept inside during the search. No information was available about the condition of the victim.
