Gov. M. Jodi Rell this week enlisted “Team Connecticut,” which includes her office and the state’s congressional delegation, to band together to protect the F-22 Raptor Program. Defense Secretary Robert Gates is attempting to cancel the $140 million-per-jet program, which employs between 2,000 and 3,000 state residents. “Team Connecticut” was last activated in 2005 to save the New London Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Conn., from closure.
