Briefly: Yale gives $500k to West Haven arts center

West Haven Mayor John Picard announced Tuesday that University officials have presented the town with a $500,000 gift to start renovations on the new West Haven Cultural Arts Center. The University has been extending its relationship with West Haven ever since officials purchased the 137-acre Bayer HealthCare property — what is now West Campus. The University now gives the town an annual $600,000 voluntary payment.
