Delivery of messages to e-mail addresses at many external Internet service providers has resumed as usual after encountering delays and blockages for several days last week, Information Technology Services announced Tuesday. The problems arose from the exploitation of compromised NetIDs and accounts at other universities sending high volumes of spam to addresses at service providers including AOL, Hotmail, Comcast and MSN. The infected machines have since been blocked and service has been restored, according to ITS.
