Intruder caught in Saybrook
Intruder caught in Saybrook
Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Police arrested a trespasser in a Saybrook suite early this morning.
At 5:49 a.m., Yale police responded to the scene after a student alerted them to the intrusion. Officers arrested the interloper and charged him with burglary, larceny and interfering with an officer. Police say the man, Kevin Smith, 23, has prior arrests for similar crimes.
Saybrook Master Paul Hudak said in an e-mail to students that Smith was able to enter the student's room because the door had been propped open with a hanger, a practice he discouraged.

Yes, but how was he able to get into the college and then into the entryway? As someone who lives in Branford, I'm disturbed that it could just as easily have been my entryway, it seems.
