Bloom 'stable and improving,' but still hospitalized
Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Sterling Professor of Humanities and legendary literary critic Harold Bloom is stable after several weeks in the hospital, according to an e-mail Associate Dean Penelope Laurans sent his students Tuesday afternoon.
"As you all have heard, Professor Bloom is still in the hospital - but he is stable and improving," Laurans wrote to the members of Bloom's "The Art of Reading a Poem" seminar.
A hospital receptionist said Sunday that Bloom was in a regular room.
