Briefly: Officers injured in kerfuffle with suspect
Two New Haven Police Department officers were injured while making an arrest Sunday. The officers, Sergeant Jason Minardi and Officer Florencio Cotto, approached a suspect, Lawrence Jeannette, as he was walking down West Street with a woman. Jeannette was wanted for his involvement in a domestic dispute in which he physically assaulted the woman. According to a press release by the city, “Jeanette became highly uncooperative and incited a struggle with officers as they attempted to subdue him for questioning.” Minardi’s shoulder was injured in the incident and Cotto’s hand was fractured....
