Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz ’83 has announced she will run for governor in 2010. In an interview with The Middletown Press, Bysiewicz said she would be filing papers for her campaign “in the near future.” She is the second candidate to declare intentions to run; former Speaker of the House James Amann has been actively campaigning for months. Other possible contenders have yet to indicate their plans for 2010, including the incumbent, Gov. M. Jodi Rell. Bysiewicz was first elected as secretary of the state in 1998, prior to which she was a state legislator.
