Ward 1 is not the only New Haven district to feature a Yale student as a candidate in the aldermanic race. Justin Elicker FES ’10 SOM ’10 said Tuesday that he will challenge Ward 10 Alderman Allan Brison for his seat, which represents many graduate students who live in the East Rock neighborhood.

Although he moved to New Haven just two years ago to pursue a joint master’s degree program at Yale, Elicker, 33, said has become intimately attached to the city in a short period of time. But Brison, the Board of Aldermen’s lone Green Party member, said he believes that Elicker’s...

Those are pretty much ( if not exactly)
the issues and agenda that Alder Brison
used as his platform.
This guy is Not in touch with the Ward.
I'd hate to find out just what he is in touch with - hanging around those bushes and park bench.
I honestly believe that Brison is working together with the BD. -Str8 across party lines for the good of the City - agreed not as much on certain issues as the 10'th Ward would hope
..Probably exactly what they want from him though

I certainly won't vote for him. Too much Yale influence in this town already.

I will be delighted to vote for Justin Elicker. Brison is like a deer in the headlights as far as understanding any constituent needs, legislation and has shown that he is not up to the daunting task of representing this highly educated, over taxed and under served ward. Elicker gets things done.

I love Elicker.

I don't believe the Ward will get the fiery orator that the cote is calling out for in Elicker. Probably a swell joe but all we've seen is pot holes getting deeper, taxes going higher, Intellincia going south..For Sale signs

Our ward can find its own people - we don't need another Yalie telling us how things should be. I don't live in East Rock, but I think they already have a smartypants Yalie in Ward 9 and don't need another in Ward 10.

So Brison is saying that even if I as an alderman am totally useless vote for me because I am a member of a 3rd party. If anyone looks at what Brison did (or more accurately did not do) then the choice is clear that Brison is not the person for the job.

Can't we find a candidate who isn't a Yale student? We don't need another Yalie looking to pad thier political resume and use New Haven as a test bed for thier socialist agenda. Vote New Haven and vote out Yale.
