Consumers ignore calories

The Au Bon Pain on the corner of Elm and Broadway may be a popular place for Elis to gather over a meal, but a new Yale study says that few actually bother to access nutritional information about the food they purchase there.

Although I believe there are plenty of people that do not think about what they consume, I disagree that just because the consumer did not check the posted calories they were unaware of what they were buying. Most of this information is available online and on your phone. I would do my research before I picked the place.

I agree with the previous poster. As someone who cares alot about what I eat, I always check the nutrionals and glance over the online menu before I even get to the restuarant. I don't really think these results accurately portray how consumers actually do their research.
