Briefly: Scientists land $125K for Parkinson’s research

Two Yale biomedical scientists have received $125,000 from the Michael J. Fox Foundation to research Parkinson’s disease. Mark Saltzman, a professor of biomedical engineering, and Michael Levene, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering, will use the grant to create new ways of visualizing how molecules move in the brains of living animals. The imaging techniques they devise will allow scientists to see how the drugs that treat Parkinson’s disease move to targeted areas of the brain under different conditions.
