WiFi problems fixed, ITS says
Recent student-reported problems with wireless connectivity and connection speed have been resolved, David Galassi, the Internet Technology Services director of network services, said Wednesday.
In response to an article published by the News earlier this month revealing student dissatisfaction with wireless, Galassi said ITS Network Services conducted an in-depth analysis of the network and, on April 21, discovered a software bug that had previously gone undetected by network monitors. A software patch was applied to central campus’s network system Friday morning and Galassi said...
Maybe it's been better in Bass, but I've still had plenty of problems around campus in the past week...
I've had consistent problems with YaleWPA2. It usually requires me to log into yale wireless first, get an IPv4 address through that, then switch back over to YaleWPA2. YaleWPA2 is much faster, though, so it's worth it.
I've noticed that the wireless in Bass is a lot better now. Good job ITS.
Who is allowed to use the YaleWPA networks? I'm a junior who lives on campus but I don't know the passwords.
Anyone with a NetID and password can log onto YaleWPA and YaleWPA2. These are encrypted networks (as opposed to Yale Wireless which is not password protected).
Uh, no.
You have to configure your computer to use Yale's WPA and WPA2 networks. Instructions can be found here: http://www.yale.edu/its/network/wireless/wpa/
(HEY ITS: This is WAY to hard to find from your website. Can you fix that please?)
really ITS? i have to go through a friend's router right now. seriously...do your job. also, why does old campus still not get yale wireless?
who cares about gender neutral dorms? let's get some gender neutral wi-fi first.
@#9: Unfortunately, gender neutral WiFi is impossible because women are worse than men at using and understanding technology.
Wow ITS, great job fixing a problem every student has known about for the entire your. Why do people get congratulated for doing their job?
