W. TENNIS | Elis leap ten spots in national rankings
Although the season began just last week, women’s tennis has already started to climb the NCAA Division One rankings. The team jumped ten places in the rankings, from No. 35 to No. 25, when the Bulldogs defeated No. 21 University of Notre Dame and fell to No. 10 University of Michigan in a close 4–3 loss last weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kick-off in Ann Arbor, Mich.
M. TENNIS | Elis notch best record since 2001
The men’s tennis team traveled to Virginia last weekend and moved to 4–0 for the season, the team’s best record since 2001. The Elis won big against both William and Mary and Old Dominion 5-2.
TENNIS | Bulldogs dominate at home
Despite not playing a match since October, the Bulldogs dominated on their home turf in the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on Sunday.

Krumholz '15 aces freshman fall
Last summer in Kalamazoo, Zach Kromholz ’15 came within five tennis matches of making the US Open. The Yale recruit has played with some of the top tennis stars in the world, including 2011 US Open Mixed Doubles champion Melanie Oudin. This year, he came in fifth in his first Yale tournament, facing off against some of the top players in the Ivy League. Unlike the first through fourth place-finishers, however, Kromholz is a freshman.
Freshmen prove themselves in Ithaca
On Saturday, Yale bested Binghamton in singles and doubles, but lost to Cornell, last year’s Ivy League Champions, in singles.

TENNIS | Freshmen burst out in season openers
In her first weekend of competitive tennis for the Bulldogs, Amber Li ‘15 found herself down 6–0, 5–0, with two match points against her. But she found her feet and stormed back, claiming the set in a 10–8 tie-breaker and closing out the final 6–1, her comeback heralding the arrival of a freshman class that all saw wins this past weekend.
SOFTBALL | Yale drops two to Harvard
The Crimson (28–14, 12–2 Ivy), who lead the league with a .312 batting average and are second with a 2.52 ERA, defeated the Bulldogs (15–21, 6–8) 8–0 in six innings in the opener and completed the sweep with a five-inning 11–1 win in the nightcap. The two victories allowed Harvard to maintain its hold of first place in the North Division and kept the Bulldogs sitting in third.
M. LACROSSE | Bulldogs dominate Hoyas
The No. 18 men’s lacrosse team never trailed in a 13-8 rout of Georgetown on Saturday. The victory extends the Bulldogs win streak to five games going into the team’s regular season finale at Harvard on April 30.
