The first matchup of undefeated Ivy League football teams since 1968 will take place in New Haven this Saturday. But ESPN College Gameday will be broadcasting from Ann Arbor, Mich. instead.

ESPN announced Monday afternoon that its weekly program College Gameday will be on location covering the competition between No. 7 Ohio State and No. 23 University of Michigan. The Harvard-Yale game will be featured in a short segment during the telecast.

Hate to break this to you Yale, but Yale-Harvard football rivalry isn't all that. You should try being in Gainesville, FL on a UF-FSU game day. Over 110,000 people cram into the stadium, with at least that many outside. That's a real rivalry. No one cares about Ivy Football.

Michigan-OSU isn't the greatest rivalry in sports.

UF-FSU is fine, if you want to watch semi-pro ball.

College Gameday did their one charity event, nice little story thing, last week. OSU-Michigan was a no brainer. Never two charity causes in the same season, let alone in consecutive weeks.

I love the "no one cares about Ivy football" and "charity cause" comments from people who obviously care enough to stalk the Yale Daily News. I believe the word is "irony."

The largest crowd ever at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium was a little over 90,000. Perhaps you should try a little math once an a while?

Here in the Midwest we usually watch The Game on WGN. For some reason, those rats at that station passed up the match for some silly and highly forgettable movie.

The Game is very special for those of us who love football as it should be played - no athletic scholarships, no overweight palookas -- just real students who play a gritty game of football for fun. And played with a spirit of good sportsmanship.

Hopefully, next year the game will be presented on WGN or ESPN.
