Gravel urges direct democracy at YPU
Former Alaskan senator calls Obama’s claim he will change country ‘unadulterated bullshit’
Mike Gravel admits the Democratic nomination for president is out of his reach. But he has his eyes on a different prize.
“I’m in this all the way to the end,” Gravel said in an interview with the News on Tuesday night. “The end is Nov. 3.”
The former Alaska senator says he plans to stay in the race until Election Day — although he does not yet know how, he admits. Gravel did not say whether continuing his campaign after the Democratic convention in August would mean running as an independent.
But he said he is committed.
“That’s not idle talk,” he said. “If...
After reading the article, he is right. I have watched the manipulation of the news media with Obama. They did the same thing with Bush. We did not know any thing about either, what a mess this country is in. Now we have mass blind following to Obama, just like Bush. Bush's word was faith, and Obama has used "hope". Both these words stir the heart, but without action of that word - it means nothing.
Yeah, remember how Bush was supposed to be the great uniter?
Mike Gravel is the real deal. He won't be uniting any politicians, but he will change the playing field from political turf wars to citizens addressing tough issues directly. People will start caring about their country again, if they actually have some say in how it is run.
I recently heard a chant at a rally "Hillary's not going to save us, Obama's not going save us, who's gonna save us? We are! The American people need clout of their own- The National Initiative will give us a means to make our voices heard. NI4d.us
http://Vote.org has a better explanation of Gravel's National Initiative. It's not just "direct" democracy, it's both direct AND representative, that we seek. This proposal has been voted the #1 idea for the next President's agenda: http://OnDayOne.org/ideas/democracy

Excellent piece. I'm working for Gravel to help him get his message out to people. I'm so sick of this Obama Fever and the Clintonistas. Neither of these candidates represents the people and this drama that is playing out in the news is atrocious.
