As the only nation with the power to blunt the nuclearization of Iran and North Korea, the United States must act decisively to defuse the threat from those two countries, former Bush administration diplomat John Bolton ’70 LAW ’74 said at the Law School on Thursday.

The mustachioed former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations — whose nomination to the post in 2006 provoked fierce resistance from senators because of past statements he had made that criticized the international body — spoke about nuclear non-proliferation and international cooperation before a crowd of about 100...

“When I was here, I didn’t take any courses at all on international law,” he said, “and frankly I don’t think I missed a thing.”

What an arrogant jerk.

Boy, talk about giving the man a free pass Yalies!

Bolton said and Yale just happily transcribed it: "As the only nation with the power to blunt the nuclearization of Iran and North Korea, the United States must act decisively to defuse the threat from those two countries"

The fact is America turned out to be completely ineffective under this administration. This administration, and the world, was surprised when North Korea demonstrated that they gained some kind of nuclear weapon capability in 2006. Similarly, the neocons claimed that Iran has nuclear weapons but oops, it turned the intelligence community in their intelligence estimate proved otherwise. (Before anyone say that the intelligence was wrong on Iraq too, everyone should know by now that under Cheney's directive, contradictory intelligence on Iraq were supressed while alternative theories were bolsterd.)

So, this man has been wrong time and again. The people he claimed was ineffective, IAEA, was right on Iraq and right on Iran, and got a Nobel Peace Prize.

Yet why is Yale Daily News happily transcribing this traitor? Think for once.

Allowing “a thuggish regime to stay in power … was pretty hard to swallow, but getting rid of the nuclear capability was worth it.”

I love how ambiguous this statement is. It's perfectly applicable to what he wants the US as.

Pathetic.

He was visiting the Law School, you didn't expect an explosion of flag waving did you? Bolton seemed quite at home amongst those who know little but say a lot.
