Koh named for State post
President Barack Obama nominated Yale Law School Dean Harold Hongju Koh on Monday to the position of legal adviser to the Department of State.
Upon confirmation by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Koh said in an e-mail message to the Law School community that he will resign from his deanship and take a public service leave. As legal adviser, Koh will serve as principal counselor on all legal matters to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton LAW ’73.
“There is no institution I love more than the Yale Law School. I have had the privilege of teaching here since 1985,...
woot! go Harold Koh!
Recent Alum, I don't really like Koh, but you are the ultimate hack. Get off the Yale boards. PLEASE! WHO THE H*** ARE YOU?!?!
I hope the Supreme Court is next!
Run for the border.
I second #3 as to Recent Alum's hackiness, though I do like Harold Koh. Go Koh! Congrats!
Dean Koh is a fantastic choice for this job.
But we at the law school will be very sad to see him go. He has been just a phenomenal dean. It will be very difficult to find a replacement who is nearly as good. Great scholars are not often also gifted administrators, negotiators, fundraisers, and speakers -- all central parts of the job of dean. Koh has been all these things. We at YLS will miss him a lot.
What a perfect fit for the Obama administration. Hillary Clinton and Dean Koh are what liberal dreams are made of! Too bad Kruschev didn't live to see his dreams come true.
Koh is the best for the job. he will bring so much. He will be missed.....Congrat Dean Koh. For the comments by Recent Alum get a life!!!!!
You just censored "hell." Who are YOU?
Some YLS students sure are excitable. Going by the screen name of "Awesome," a student writes that Koh is a "fantastic" choice and a "phenomenal" dean.
Koh and his brother can now commute to work together. But what about the rest of the Koh siblings? No Obama administration posts for them? Someone must have missed the donation letter.
Koh is a hack. Thankfully, this is as far as he will ever get in government.
