Briefly: DeLauro, Voigt pledge support to mayor’s re-election campaign
Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro has endorsed John DeStefano Jr. in his bid for a ninth mayoral term. DeLauro, who spoke at DeStefano’s re-election rally at Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School on Monday afternoon, congratulated the mayor on the city’s decrease in crime and improvements made to public school education. As was expected, Democratic Town Committee Chairwoman Suzie Voigt also endorsed DeStefano, along with 38 members of the committee. The Democratic primary will take place Sept. 15, and the general municipal election will occur Nov. 3.
