After finding out she had been laid off from her job as a registered nurse and internal auditor at the School of Medicine last April, Shelli Eason visited Yale human resources’ career center every day for months.

Who is "loyal to the University?" I have encountered so many custodial and administrative leeches who are anything but loyal. Some of them don't even seem to be competent. They talk about how great it is to get another layabout sinecure because of the union pandering, and how no job anywhere else will ever get you the same salary, benefits and hours without working you to the bone. I also encounter some incredibly good workers who don't seem to get much reward for their excellent services at all.
What does Michael Peel mean by "loyal to the University?" How does Yale measure loyalty? What sorts of things are considered disloyal? Is lack of loyalty actually used as a reason for not rehiring a laid off Yale employee?
