The story “Obama aids city economy” mistakenly stated that New Haven has experienced budget deficits in past years, when in fact, the city has closed out recent fiscal years with budget surpluses, including a $773,000 surplus to close out the 2007-08 fiscal year. In the current fiscal year, City Hall expects a balanced budget.
