At this moment of ever-worsening economic crisis, the pre-primary for Ward 1 alderman announced last week by Ward 1 Democratic co-chairwomen Adzua Agyapon ’11 and Rhiannon Bronstein ’11 offers Yale students an exciting opportunity to engage in a debate over the future of New Haven.

Maybe it i$ time to look for candidate$ with $horter and $maller idea$. The candidate$ with long and larger idea$ have bankrupted the once grand Elm City (not to mention the state of Connecticut and the entire country.)

An excellent point. Thank you for pushing the debate forward. I'm looking forward to seeing the candidate respond to the challenge, and tell us, in his words, what municipal government can do. It will not be easy for a student or any newcomer to the BOA to implement sweeping change--but he must have concrete ideas for where he will stand.
