News' View: Adam Thomas '12 for YCC treasurer

Published Monday, April 13, 2009

In a field of one joke candidate and two freshmen, we found no candidate who stood far above the others, but we offer our endorsement to Adam Thomas ’12. Thomas, the current chair of the Freshman Class Council, is more experienced and appears more prepared to take on the duties of a YCC Executive Board member than his one serious opponent, Yanni Legmpelos ’12.

In his interview, Legmpelos admitted he is open to bold changes next year. He said it is “outrageous” that Spring Fling receives such a large percentage of the YCC budget, and suggested the council’s money would be better...

Good of you to deign Thomas worthy of your offer, oh holy YDN. Seriously, all of these "endorsements" run along the lines of "Well, they ALL suck, but I SUPPOSE if we HAD to pick ONE, we'd pick ________. How considerably boorish."

Take a step back, guys. You're college journalists.

Yanni has only shown up to 6 of the 13 YCC meetings, which means that he should have been kicked of the committee last year. the attendance chart is in the meeting room in bingham basement, check it out for yourself.

being a member of FCC,
I have nothing against Yanni's performance in the FCC.
physical presence is not the same with active involvement.
And true it may be that Yanni was not in our meeting at all times, he was involved in the discussions and actively invested in planning when he was attending and he was doing so between meetings especially coming up to the Freshman Olympics.

remember the speaker sound system in the Olympics?
guess who was organizing all that?
the council member you wanted to kick out

I'd just like to point out that it's clear a person whose first language is not English wrote this last post (probably Yanni, knowing him). Same as, not same "with." Good job.

I am Yanni, and I never write anonymously.
Especially on YDN where my name is mentioned and your is not, "haha".
