My year at YDN: Did someone say penile frostbite?
We’re at the end of the year, and I’m at the end of my time in this space.
I’m grateful for the opportunity I had to write here and for the responses I received from readers all year. In this final column, I want to answer two readers who took the time to share their thoughts with me.
In November I wrote a column about poker. I didn’t mean the column to be too serious: The ultimate point was that I’m no good at the game, and I don’t play because I don’t like to lose money. The column, unexpectedly, elicited a strong response.
Three people responded on the Web site,...
Thanks for writing, Pete.
Great year of columns, Pete.
Loved reading them everytime
Very clever final column. How pleasant to read something like this in the YDN. I'm the parent of a "Yalie-to-be" and have been reading your paper online for the last couple of months to get a feel for what life will be like for our child who will be moving 3,000 miles away to attend your spectacular university. Whew! So glad to read about something that is not fraught with controversy and divisiveness. Hope you'll be back next year . . .
I was qouted in Pete's column. I feel like I have found a new, young friend even though we have never met. Pete has a wonderful perspective on sports and life in general. I will miss his columns.
