W. SQUASH | Tournament run ends with Harvard
The No. 2 women’s squash team fell in the Howe Cup finals to tournament hosts, No. 1 Harvard last weekend.
SQUASH | Women's squash still perfect
The Elis had a minor set-back when they played Princeton and Penn this past weekend when the men’s team lost to No. 3 Princeton on Saturday, ending their chance for an undefeated season. However, the men’s team bounced back and won its Sunday match against No. 10 Penn, improving to a 12-1 record.
SQUASH | Elis stay perfect
This season, the men’s and women’s squash teams have both won 23 games without a single loss. Pulling ahead of squash titan Trinity on the 18th, the men’s team was named No. 1 in the national rankings Jan. 22. The No. 1 Elis dispatched No. 13 Annapolis this Saturday to take their flawless season record record to 11–0. The women’s team also won against a No. 11 Brown this weekend with a perfect sweep.

Thirteen years and 252 straight wins had made Trinity squash a dynasty. But Yale, the No. 2 squash powerhouse for three years, was determined to claim some of the glory last Wednesday night.

After last Wednesday’s historic defeat of Trinity College, the Yale’s men’s and women’s squash teams, both ranked second in the nation, continued their undefeated rampage this weekend. The men’s team defeated No. 11 Universtiy of Western Ontario of Rochester at home. The women’s team bested No. 12 Mount Holyoke, No. 22 Colby and No. 20 Wesleyan at the Pioneer Invitational and won every match.

Despite a respite for the winter holidays, the men’s and women’s squash teams picked up right where they left off yesterday--winning, they dominated Amherst in a 9-0 sweep.

The men’s and women’s squash teams swept their first non-scrimmage competition last weekend, sweeping both Franklin and Marshall and Haverford in Lancaster, Pa. Last Saturday, the women’s and men’s squash teams traveled to Pennsylvania to face Franklin and Marshall and Haverford.
CROSS COUNTRY | Runners overcome snow
At Ivy League Heptagonal Championships Saturday, a downpour turned into snow midway through the men’s 8k race. The women took to the course afterward, and were treated to snow, slush and mud. Despite the conditions, the women, who are in their first season under coach Amy Gosztyla, placed 4th overall, a steep improvement from their 2010 8th place finish. The men placed 6th, moving up one slot from last year’s 7th place.
