Preseason Camp Yale
Unbeknownst to many Yalies, Camp Yale is not a celebrated time of reunion and debauchery for all students. In fact, for some it is a dreaded and arduous part of their college experience.
Woods in Nike commercial: 'I’m Tiger Woods, (expletive)!'
As Tiger Woods prepared for his return to professional golf at the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, this weekend, his most loyal sponsor began the work of paving the road to redemption. Longtime sponsor Nike, Woods’ biggest endorsement partner, aired a new commercial featuring the voice of the golfer’s late father, Earl Woods. The ad, titled “Earl and Tiger,” touches on Woods’ recent personal struggles that led to his departure from professional golf nearly five months ago and to the separation from his wife, Elin Nordegren, with whom Woods has two children. In the commercial, Earl Woods admonishes his son for his indiscretions but encourages him to learn from his mistakes, to which Tiger responds, “I’m Tiger Woods, (expletive).” No, not really. Field of dreams
It was a weekday like any other. I grabbed breakfast at Commons, went to my morning class in LC and then headed over to Davies Auditorium for another riveting lecture with Professor Robert (Z-z-z)inn. But alas, I never made it to “Planets and Stars” that day.
CLUB SPORTS | Club volleyball takes title

ICE CREAM
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I felt that it was important to compliment the ungodly number of Russell Stover chocolates that are sure to be consumed with a brief sampling of New Haven’s ice cream offerings. Though the number of ice cream stores in New Haven pales in comparison to say, pizza parlors, what the city lacks in quantity it certainly makes up for in quality.
The clubs of Crown Street
While the old adage, “All roads lead to Toad’s,” still accurately describes the nightlife for most Yalies (read: athletes), some students opt instead for clubs on Crown Street such as Elevate, Alchemy and Hula Hank’s. Though the patrons of Toad’s and said Crown Street clubs are not mutually exclusive, there does seem to exist a degree of distinction between the types of people that frequent such locations.
scene | The Game, according to Witt
It’s that time of the year again. But aside from a note in your planner or an increasing amount of spam in your inbox, you just might miss it. The unseasonably warm temperature certainly isn’t giving it away. Then again, how can you miss the nine e-mails about Friday’s “Dance Party with Pance Party”?
The Pied Piper of Woodstock
Most people have never heard of Artie Kornfeld. But without a doubt, they’ve experienced the impact he’s had on music in one way or another. They’ve heard songs that he wrote played on the radio, listened to bands that he’s produced or promoted, and certainly know of his most memorable creation — Woodstock.
