Sometimes in sports all you need is a confidence booster to get your team back on a winning streak. The Bulldogs will be looking for their confidence boosters this weekend against two Ivy League rivals.

M. BASKETBALL | Analysis: The art of Ivy League recruiting

All’s fair in love and recruiting. While many fans may think that games are won on the basketball court, in college basketball, they are often won during the dog days of summer when coaches scour the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) circuit and try to schmooze impressionable young high school players. Whether a small school or a top program in the nation, recruiting can often define the success of a program.

M. BASKETBALL | Two losses end winning streak

What goes up must come down. After winning five games in a row, the men’s basketball team (7-11, 2-2 Ivy) returned to Earth this weekend with a pair of losses that marked their worst scoring performances of the season.

BASKETBALL | Analysis: A new line on court leaves fans seeing triple

Most Bulldog fans have already noticed something different on the basketball court in John J. Lee Amphitheater this season. M. BASKETBALL | Analysis: Post play a must in new basketball season

Déjà vu? With 5:29 left in the game in Palo Alto, Calif., on Nov. 20, 2007, the men’s basketball team was down five points to Stanford. Forward Ross Morin ’09 had just dunked to cap a 5-0 run by the Elis, winnowing down 10-point Cardinal lead in a little over a minute. Stanford responded quickly with their own 5-0 run in the next minute, though, pushing the lead back to 10 points.

W. BASKETBALL | Season preview

Is the glass half full or half empty? At first glance, the women’s basketball team’s 2007-’08 season would seem to be nothing special. The Bulldogs finished in fourth place out of eight teams in the Ivy League with a lowly 9-18 record overall. But such an analysis would miss out on the tremendous strides made by the team last season — strides that the team will look to continue this year.
